Day 2 (28 Dec 08): Taipei City – Taipei 101 + 五分埔 + 饒河街夜市
Our 1st program for the day was to visit Taipei 101. I’ve also never been to the top of the building so pretty excited about it. We decided to walk there since it’s about 30mins walk from our hotel. We even stop outside 国父纪念馆 to take some pictures. We had quite a bit fun at Taipei 101 as we were thinking of many crappy ideas to take pictures. You can find them in my Facebook. After Taipei 101, we shopped around a bit at that area where NewYork NewYork & Mitsukoshi are. We left for五分埔 after that. 五分埔 was packed as it was Sunday. We spent about 3hrs shopping there. I bought quite a bit of stuff there since things there are cheaper compared to some other shopping districts. Guess I am the only one again who left with bag full of “goods” from there. We proceed to 饒河街夜市 for our dinner. We took a cab and Eileen, Kevin & myself were dropped off at one end of the night market and YY, Cheryl & JC at the other. As the night market was quite long and packed. We decided to meet somewhere in the center of the street. It took us quite a while to find one another and both groups were getting a bit irritated. Lucky we all remained cool about it and didn’t trigger a quarrel. We had 药燉排骨 for dinner there and also some smelling doufu after that. Didn’t buy much stuff there as place is too packed. Went back to hotel for early rest cause we have a full day itinerary on the next day.
