Problem with short hair is you need to cut it regularly. The last time I had it cut was before my birthday in April. My hair grew very fast so its time to have it trimmed. Initially, I wanted to go back to my stylist in Far East but I still have a bit of phobia cause she didn't do a good job when I went there in March. Wanted to go to Jeric Salon @ Central Mall to look for a Jap stylist call Yohei but his appointments are fully booked till next week. Finally decided to go look for Michelle @ Jeric Salon who was highly recommended by my fren Edy. I am very satisfied with the haircut cause it turn out well. Will definitely go look for her again and even recommend friends to get their cut by her.
Live each day, as if there is no tomorrow. Be Happy. Give Thanks. Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is mystery, Today is a GIFT.

Relocation of Seat
Today is the day I have officially relocated my seat in the office. The reason for relocation is because I am sitting too far away from my current boss. She took over after my ex-boss left and she has no intention to move. That's why I need to move to sit closer to her and its also more convenient if she needs to get me to do things. As I have told many of my frens, I have moved from a "corner 5-room HDB" to a "corridor 3-room HDB". The place is so small that I have to put most of stuff & files in the utility room. I am also used to rolling my chair around but I can't do so now cause I will bump into the colleague sitting behind me. My new place is also easily distracted cause its near the staircase. The seat is further from the toilet & pantry compare to my old one. Fortunately, its near the photocopier. Now I cannot surf the internet openly cause many people walk past my seat everyday. Well guess I will get used to my new seat and new neighbours soon. Good thing is I still have a seat in the company so no complains.
Garcia Marquez
Besides Head Porter, there is a brand that I didn't manage to find when I went to Tokyo in March. The brand is call Garcia Marquez Crystal Ball. I got to know of this brand cause they had a bag which collaborated with Hello Kitty few years. It was a limited edition but the price is pretty expensive. Wanted to get it when I was in Tokyo but couldn't find it and I was also quite broke so didn't buy the bag. When my ex-boss told me she is going to Tokyo in May, I decided to seek her help to get me the bag. Since the designs for the brand always change, I had to print her a few designs to choose from. She managed to help me buy one of the designs I wanted. I shall not disclose the price but its definitely comparable to my Head Porter ones. Think I have to stop buying bags for now cause really too many bags.

Porter Bags Collection
As promised in my earlier blogs, I am going to introduce to you my Porter International & Head Porter bag collections. Many people thought that Porter & Head Porter belong to the same brand & company but actually they are not. Porter is from Taiwan whereas Head Porter is from Japan. Porter International is created under the authorization of Yoshida Company to cater more for the international market and is available in countries like Europe, US, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taiwan. They now have a boutique in Wisma. I started to know about Head Porter bags when I visited Tokyo 5 years ago. I didn't buy one then cause it was too expensive. My fren did buy a pouch which she is still using. Got to know about Porter when I went to Hong Kong few years back. The price for Porter International is slightly cheaper and they do have some similar designs as Head Porter. Both brands have collaborations with many designers or brands. I have also got 2 which belongs to collaborations range. Besides bags, I have also got wallet, key pouch & tissue pouch from Porter & also lanyard from Head Porter. Now I am more of a Head Porter fan cause I realize that their designs are more exclusive. Below are my bags collection:
Porter x Hello Kitty tote bag
Porter tote bag
Porter sling bag
Head Porter Black Beauty Noir pouch bought from Tokyo in Mar 08

Accuracy of Death
Finally went to watch Accuracy of Death yesterday. We were suppose to watch it last week but couldn't get the tickets. The reason I am watching it is because my fav actor Takeshi Kaneshiro is the lead actor in the movie. Chiba (Takeshi Kaneshiro) appears seven days before a person dies an unexpected death. His job is to observe the person for seven days, and then decide either to 'execute=death' or 'suspend=life' this person's life. Getting his work quickly out of the way, he goes to the listening booth of a CD shop and indulges in his favourite pastimes, listening to 'humanity's greatest invention' - music. He is... a Grim Reaper. Today, again, in the rain, he waits. His subject, her death due in seven days, is Kazue Fujiki (Manami Konishi), 27. She works for a manufacturing company, in the complaints department. Exhausted after her day, she emerges from her office. It's time for the Reaper to go to work. After observing, he decided to let her live cause he feels that there is still things that she needs to accomplish. She became a popular singer but lived her alone cause she realized that people she loved died early. She even abandoned her child so he wouldn't die. Chiba met again when she was 70 years old and this time he can finally execute his mission cause she has finally fulfill her missions. The story is not too bad but I did fell alseep while watching it cause I am too tired from the partying the night before. After the movie, I just feel that we should live our life to the fullest cause we will never know when we are going to leave this world. Live it with no regrets and stay happy always.
Hip Hop
Some of you may not know but I have recently taken up Hip Hop dance lessons. My teacher is Jackie Lim from Dancepoint. I had taken up Hip Hop lessons few years back but have not been practising for some time. Decided to take it up again since I can keep fit and learn something new. As I go for the lessons, I also realize that I am getting old, cannot seem to catch up with the steps at times. The students in my class are all young teenagers. Guess I am the oldest in the class. But I can assure you that I am not the worst. Since I've got some experience, I still good with some of the steps. Yesterday he thought us how to do Locking which I've seen in Jolin Cai's MTVs. The steps were really tough cause you need to be very fast. My arms & legs are still aching from the practice. Anyway Jackie told us that his school will have a performance in Dec and if we can do well, he will select some of us to be in the performance. Well, I will have to practice real hard if I wanna to be in the performance.
DF Session 23 May 08
Its time for our monthly DF session again. This round response is pretty bad cause alot of them can't make. We only have Edy, Eileen, Sharol, Cheryl, YY & me who could make it. To make up for the numbers, we have invited new frens to join us. We have got Serene (ex-colleague) and Ian (Sharol's fren) to joined us this month. We decided to start the session earlier at 9pm cause we always dun know how to spend our time before the session starts. They gave us the small room which is on the 2nd floor of Mono. We dun really like the room but we have got no choice since we do not have enough people to book the medium room. Initially we thought that those who are going dun really sing except for YY, Cheryl, Sharol & me. It seems like we were wrong cause Edy, Serene & Ian sang quite alot of songs too. We had a hard time fighting for the mic. We also drank almost 2.5 bottles of Vodka. I realised that I have improved in my alcohol drinking cause I wasn't high that evening even though I drank about 7-8 glasses of Vodka Orange. There is someone who is a lousier drinker than me, the person is Serene. She got super high that night. We had a hard time managing her cause she couldn't even stand properly. We finished the ktv at about 1.30am and decided to go down to Dragonfly for a dance. Met Cheryl's frens there who invited us to sit at their table. The live performance and music there was pretty good. They even sang my fav 五月天 songs such as 离开地球表面 & 温柔 (还你自由版). We stayed till about 4am before making our way home cause we were all tired & sleepy. It was fun session though it was not our regular crowd. Look forward to next session and hope to see more people attend since this is the only time we can catch up. The next session is also to celebrate Daphne & Shirley's birthday.

For those who have lost their love ones, they will also need time to recover. Anyway there will be concert this weekend to collect funds to donate to the earthquake victims. For those who wanna to donate, you may call the numbers indicated:
1900-112 5121 $6
1900-112 5122 $18
1900-112 5123 $50
Hope those who read this blog can also donate generously to help.

"Maid" of Honor
Went to watch movie "Made of Honor" on last Saturday with Cheryl & Sharol. Here a summary of the story: For Tom (Patrick Dempsey), life is good: hes sexy, successful, has great luck with the ladies, and knows he can always rely on Hannah (Michelle Monaghan), his delightful best friend and the one constant in his life. Its the perfect setup until Hannah goes overseas to Scotland on a six-week business trip and Tom is stunned to realize how empty his life is without her. He resolves that when she gets back, hell ask Hannah to marry him but is floored when he learns that she has become engaged to a handsome and wealthy Scotsman and plans to move overseas. When Hannah asks Tom to be her maid of honor, he reluctantly agrees to fill the role but only so he can attempt to woo Hannah and stop the wedding before its too late. The movie is hilarious. We were laughing so loudly throughout the movie. We even went into discussing who we can get to be our maid of honor when we get married. I suggested getting Sai Kit to be my maid of honor cause he has got a great fashion sense. We even thought of having Kai Ee as the pageboy. Maybe its not a bad idea to have guy frens as your maid of honor & bridesmaids. Love to see the guys dressed in laces. The guys are going to kill me when they see this blog. Haha. So my dear brothers: Kai Ee, YY, Sai Kit, Edy, Beng, Mycle & Hui Lam, dun be surprised if I asked any of you to be my "maid" of honor when I do get married one day. There are more good movies coming up this May & June. I am gonna watch Accuracy of Death, What Happens in Vegas, Sex & the City and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince of Caspian in the next few weeks. Will share after watching them.
Bowling
Haha, think I have wrote in my earlier blogs that I miss bowling sessions. Well, made a few attempts to organise one but seems like its very difficult to match everyone's schedule. Guess it's time to temporary stop them for now. Will have to look for other friends who are keen to go bowling with me. Cannot count on the current gang anymore.

Am I a useless friend???
Recently many of frens are faced with problems that are related to home, relationship or even work. There are some whom I can help by providing a listening ear. There are also some who I simply cannot do much to help. I can still provide them encouragements but this will not solve their problems. I sometimes feel pretty useless when I come across such cases. My frens were there when I needed help and I do wanna be able to help them when they face problems. Can someone tell me how I can help???
Worldwide Festival 18MAY08
Went to the Worldwide Festival by Gilles Paterson yesterday at the Fort Canning Park. This is the last day of the 3 day event held in Singapore for the first time. I already had the intention to go when I received the brochure from DBS for the event. Asked Cheryl along since she probably be the only one who will be interested. Found out from the website that you can win a pair of tickets to the event so decided to join the lucky draw. No news of the draw so decided to buy the tickets on Fri which cost me $54 but received a call on Sat that I won a pair of tickets. Nearly fainted when I they called me to tell me that I won the tickets. Invited Sharol along and passed the other free ticket to Hui Lam's fren. Hui Lam also won a pair of tickets to the event. The thing about winning the tickets is that I have to be there at 4pm to collect the tickets. Sharol & Cheryl were only supposed to meet me at 9pm. Lucky I met Hui Lam's frens Chong & KT who were willing to let me tag along with them for that 5 hours. Sharol was also able to meet me earlier. We finally went to the event at 9pm. The music was great although some is trance music which is not my fav type of music. We did have fun except that the weather was unbearably hot. I did get a bit high cause I had beer with Chong before the event and also Vodka & Chivas at the event. Overall its a pretty good experience.

Macau 11-14 May 2008
This is the 2nd time I went to Macau. The 1st time was in 2004. Macau has got 2 islands: Macau & Taipa. Macau is where all the big casinos & places of interest are. Taipa is where the airport is located. I stayed at Pousada Infrante Marina hotel located in Taipa. The newly opened The Venetian is also located in Taipa and its pretty near the hotel I stayed. I visited The Venetian after checking in to the hotel. The Venetian is a 5-star hotel with the largest casino of 800 tables & 6000 jackpot machines. It also has a shopping arcade consisting of 350 shops. I nearly lost my way in the casino cause its really very big.
Macau is a pretty boring place except for the numerous big casinos. They have Sands, Wynn, Lisboa & The Venetian. Its more of a place for gambling than sightseeing. I didn't really gambled but my dad did and he invested about S$1000 at the casinos. Well I rather spend the money shopping or travelling. Macau is famous for nice food such as Pork Cutlet Bun & Portuguese egg tarts. You must definitely try the Pork Cutlet Bun at Rua Do Cunha in Taipa. They only start selling at 3pm and the queue is already long by 2.45pm. There was even a Japanese TV crew filming the shop when I was there. I must say that the bun is very yummy.
Besides hanging around in Macau, I also went for a 1 day trip in Hong Kong. The journey is about 1hr ferry ride. Managed to grab 2 pairs of Converse shoes + some clothes. Haiz, burn another hole in my pocket again. Need to pay off my bills and start saving for my next trip.

Office Politics
Politics in the office are getting from bad to worse since the day my boss left. I can see many of them trying to gain favoritism with my new boss who was previously the deputy head of the department. Some are even self-declaring their importance in the department. I know that we are currently pretty short-handed since another senior manager is also leaving next week but there is no reason for you to think that the company cannot live without you and you are super important. Like I mentioned in my earlier blogs, I hope all the people that Alicia has fostered can live up to her expectations and continue the legacy she left behind. We have to continue to look after the department she took 4 years to build. We need to ensure that it maintains the standard in the company. This is not the time to fight and kill one another. We should help one another to survive through this tough period. You may not even benefit even if you can get rid of your enemy. I know people play politics or network just so that they can climb the corporate ladder faster. But I do hope that even if you wanna play politics, do it with integrity. Don't ever let people look down on you and loose the respect people have for you.

Yummy Dinner
Guess where I had my dinner today? I had my dinner at The Line in Shangri-La Hotel. My fren's husband who is working in the same hotel chain is entitled to 50% discount so we decided to treat ourselves to an expensive dinner today. The price of the buffet is $88++ per pax so after the discount, I still paid $52. There were alot of delicious food to chose from. I had oysters, sashimi, scallop, lobster, squid pasta and many more. You even get free flow of juices, soft drink, beer & wine. I had lots of mango juice as well as a glass of wine. Also had crepe & ice cream for dessert. The food is good but its not worth if you dun know how appreciate things like oysters & lobsters cause these are the more expensive stuff. Imagine having to pay more than $100 without discount to eat normal buffet food, thats too expensive. I must say the oysters were very fresh & delicious. Well, not too sure if I will have the chance to go there and eat again but its definitely an experience.
The oyster shells
Nice glasses
Yummy oysters
Strawberry with chocolate & crepe
Cheers to the wonderful dinner
No Worries
After the news of my boss resigning was announce, many of my frens & colleagues started calling me to ask me how I am and what is going to happen to me. Many must have thought that I be out of job since my boss has already left. I will still continue to stay cause I needed the job. I still my deputy HOD to serve although she is quite independent and may not need my help. I will wait and see what happens. Its either she dun need me and decide to ask me to go or put me in another position. Nothing much I can do now but to wait and see. I may look around for a new job but no hurry unless they really want me to leave. Anyway, thanks for the all care & concern my frens & colleagues have shown me for the past 2 days. I know you all are very worried for me but I assure you that I will be strong & well and will keep you updated if there is any news.

Farewell to my Boss
A special dedication to my boss Alicia who has decided to leave us for new pastures. It came to us as a very shocking news cause non of us had heard anything about her resigning at all. The company let her leave on the same day without having to serve any notice. This is the 2nd time I see her leave. Although I am very sad that she is leaving but I am also happy that she can finally leave this company who dun appreciate her hard work. There were many people who had difficulty working with her initially but they all came to realize that she is actually a very nice person. She always reward staff who works hard and never bear any grudges to those who were not nice to her. I am not sure if everyone in the department are sad that she has left. I sincerely wish her well in all future endeavours and if given the opportunity, I definitely wanna work with her again. I also hope that those who have worked for her will not disappoint her efforts in getting you to where you are now. Continue to do well and make her proud of you. Dear Alicia, take care and may God bless you always. You will always be the best boss I ever had.

Memories
I saw this in a korean drama today.
What is the meaning of memories? Its means something that happen in the past. If a person keeps holding on to the past, he/she will never be able to move on.
If you happen to be holding on the some memories, its time to let go and move on with your life.
