Overcoming Your Sorrow

The important thing is to overcome the sorrow that accompanies any type of separation, such as death or breakup. The vital thing is to continue advancing. Do not look back. Just forge on. There are many reasons why people bid farewell to one another. People have their own thoughts and situations. It may be difficult indeed not to look back. The deep scars within your heart may not heal quickly. Yet brace yourself so you can look forward. You have to advance, even a step. You should strive to move on, cutting through the clouds on your heart. As long as you advance, new hope will be born. The sun will rise. Only when you continue to advance can you encounter an even better, more wonderful you. A new life will unfold for you.

I don't want a Boyfriend, I need a Real Man

As many of my friends know, I am looking for a boyfriend and I am not shy to admit that. Time is running out for me so I should be actively looking for one anyway. Bowling + 爱情海 (21 Mar 09)

Went with some frens bowling & 爱情海 to listen songs on last Saturday. Haven been bowling for quite a few months. Realize that its a good break cause I kind of forgot my old habits and manage to play better this time. My lowest score was about 70+ which was pretty good for me. As usual, the rest played better than me. The original plan that day was to go trekking at Hort Park but due to the recent raining season, we decided to postpone it. So went with another group of frens to Marina Square on that day. After dinner, we went to 爱情海 which is a 民歌餐厅 to listen to songs. We were there from 730pm to 11pm. Some of the singers were really good. But then again, if they weren't good, they also cannot sing there. I quite enjoy the session. Hope to go there again soon.

Birthday Wish

As some of my very close frens know, I've always had only ONE birthday wish every year. That is:"To find a man who loves me & I love him". The last time it took 10 years for the wish to be fulfilled but the happiness didn't last as long as I wanted it to be. This has again been my birthday wish for the recent 2 years. It has yet to be fulfilled and I do hope that I do not have to wait another 10 years as time is running out.

I think fate is playing a trick on me. For the past 1.5years, I've been trying hard to find my new love. Guys that I feel I can click with are not the good ones and I cannot click with the good guys. Do I really have to compromise & make myself change again just because I want to fit into a man's life? Is it my retribution? Am I gonna end up being alone for the rest of my life? Are my standards too high or am I not good enough for the guys out there? There are the questions that I've been asking myself. I am happy being alone and I am not desperate but it does feel good to have someone by your side. But I also do not want to go into a relationship just because time is running out for me. I do not want to make the same mistake as I did before. I was happy to fall in love and didn't consider alot of issues. I only realized that 3 years later. I was told that I would have some romance luck this year and I do hope it's true. Let's hope that I will have a partner to celebrate my birthday with me next year.

I just wanna dedicate this post to congratulate a dear fren of mine. I shall share the reason but I do feel that my fren deserves the reward. Congratulations!!!

KUMAR: Stripped Bare & Standing-up (19 Mar 09)

Hehe, believe it or not but I really bought tickets to watch KUMAR: Stripped Bare & Standing-up. I was keen when I saw that he was having this performance. Lucky I managed to find frens who were interested to watch it with me. We didn't buy the most expensive tickets, think it was the mid range ones we bought. The seats were good as we were able to see him clearly. It was at The Esplanade and the theatre was packed. I've never watched Kumar when he performed at The Boom Boom Room so this performance was an eye-opening for me. I am pretty impressed with his talent. He actually did the whole performance alone. It was hilarious and I was laughing throughout the show. It was truly a stress relieve session and I've enjoyed myself. Will definitely watch Kumar's performance again.

Hong Kong 10-14 March 2009

Yes! This is my 1st trip in 2009 besides the Taiwan trip in Dec 08 which ended in Jan 09. I selected this date cause had wanted to travel with Abby & hubby. Due to some work schedule issues, I went only with my mom. As many of you know, I don't really like travelling with my mom cause she is pretty naggy. Anyway not much choice since not many people wanna go Hong Kong with me. I am gonna to share what I did in that 5 days there:

Day 1 - 10 March 09

Took an early flight out of S'pore to HK via JetStar. Arrived there at bout 11am. We decided to have lunch at the airport & proceed to Tung Chung CityGate Outlets since its near the airport. To my surprise, didn't manage to buy much stuff there. I am a bit disappointed. At around 3pm, we made our way to the hotel via MTR. After checking in to the hotel, I decided to go over to Mongkok for dinner + shopping. Managed to get some cheap at the usual malls that we hang around in Mongkok. Sad to find out that the usual shop that we ate the fried maggi mee with chicken wings had moved and the weather is colder than expected.

Day 2 - 11 March 09

Since I had changed my itinerary, decided to go over to Shenzhen to get those stuff that I wanted before I spent all my money. Spent about 2-3hrs there jus to get the bags & wallets. Well, at least I managed to get my "Miu Miu" bag although its a bit expensive. After returning from Shenzhen, we went over to Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) for shopping & dinner. I happened to pop by b+ab and realize that they are still having some final sale which prices are 70% less. Grabbed quite alot of clothes there cause they were really a good buy since b+ab clothes are not cheap.

Day 3 - 12 March 09

Went over to Central on 12 Mar. Had to go to our fav dimsum restaurant for lunch. As usual, that place is packed since it is a traditional cantonese rest. Had to share table with others. As for the food, you will have to go look for the trolley that aunties are pushing and get what is available there. There is no such thing as ordering from the menu. I was even scolded by one of the auntie. Think I am not gonna go there again to eat on my next trip to HK. After lunch, we shopped around Central and the most impt place to visit is the H&M mega store there. It is a 4th storey store that carry more designs than other outlets. I managed to get quite alot of stuff there. Love that store and that is a must go place in HK. Went back to the hotel to rest in the late afternoon. Went over to Yaumatei to eat our fav claypot rice & oyster pancake for dinner. The standard for the claypot rice has dropped. After dinner, went to do a bit more shopping in Mongkok.

Day 4 - 13 March 09

Today's itinerary is Causeway Bay. We decided to visit the Hong Kong Flower Festival which was at Victoria Park near Causeway Bay. It was pretty warm on that day but the flowers were beautiful. After Victoria Park, we went Paterson Street to shop before proceeding to have lunch. After lunch was more shopping in that area. In the evening, I met with my fren Kristine & hubby for dinner. She brought us to her service apartment to take a look and also outskirt to have roast goose. The roast goose is very nice. After dinner, she brought us to have dessert which was just as good.

Day 5 - 14 March 09

It is finally my last in HK and I can't wait to go back. Since I've done most of my shopping, the last day is just to get some snacks for friends & colleagues. Went over to TST to have lunch and last minute shopping before departing to the airport. Left the hotel at about 5pm to go the airport. When we arrived there, I realized that HK has open a new terminal for budget airlines and we need to walk slightly further to the counters for check-in and the gates to the flights were also different. We even had to take a bus to board the plane cause it is not parked near the terminal. I wasn't really happy with the new arrangement of HK airport but guess I don't have much choice since I choose to take budget airline.

Overall, it was a fruitful trip since I bought quite alot of nice clothes. At the same time, I also spend alot. I will have to work extra hard to save more money for my next trip.

Working Hard

I just realize that I have not been blogging for the past 2-3 weeks. Not sure if my brain has run out of topics or I am just too lazy to blog. Life has been pretty normal except being busy at work. I just did my confirmation appraisal with my boss Wilym 2 weeks ago and received my confirmation letter today when I went back to office after a week's break in Hong Kong. Glad to be confirmed although I thought that I didn't do that well in this current job. I have very high expectations for myself since I was being recommended for this job. I know I am totally new to this area but I try my best to learn more. I do sometimes feel lost at work as there are no one to guide me. My bosses travels very often and even when they are around, they are busy. Managed to have a good talk with Wilym about my problems and now I get a clearer picture on how to manage my work. As most of my colleagues & frens know, I am one who is not afraid of working hard but I must have a directions. Guess I kind of forget that I am no longer a secretary who only takes instructions from my boss. I need to have more initiative and be more proactive. I love my new job although things don't seem as good as when I first joined the dept. I know that so long I am willing to work hard, I should have no problem surviving. In this current economy, let's all strive to do our best in our work and continue to motivate one another to do better. I shall share with everyone my Hong Kong trip in my next post.

He's Just Not That Into You (Chapter 4)

Chapter 4: He is just not into you if he's not having sex with you

- People tell you who they are all the time. When a man says he can't be monogamous, you should believe him.

Chapter 3: He is just not into you if he's not dating you

- Guys tell you how they feel even if you refuse to listen or believe them. "I don't want to be in a serious relationship" truly means "I don't want to be in a serious relationship with you" or "I'm not sure that you're the one".

- Better than nothing is not good enough for you.

- If you don't know where the relationship is going, it's okay to pull over and ask.

- Murky? Not good. (Don't ask me what this means)

- There's a guy out there who will want to tell everyone that he's your boyfriend. Quit goofing around and go find him.

He's Just Not That Into You (Chapter 2)

Chapter 2: He is just not into you if he is not calling you

- If he's not calling you, it's because you are not on his mind.

- If he creates expectations for you, and then doesn't follow through on little things, he will do the same for big things. Be aware of this and realize that he's okay with disappointing you.

- Don't be with someone who doesn't do what they say they're going to do.

- If he's choosing not to make a simple effort that would put you at ease and bring harmony to a recurring fight, then he doesn't respect your feelings and needs.

- "Busy" is another word for "asshole"."Asshole" is another word for the guy you are dating.

- You deserve a fucking phone call.
