DF Graduation Bash (19 Dec 2008)

It's finally time for your DF Club final cum X'mas gathering @ Mono on 19 Dec 08. We started our planning few weeks back. Sharol helped to think of the theme call "DF Graduation Bash". Due to my busy work schedule, I've decided to stop organising the DF sessions from next year onwards. It's no longer that easy to coordinate especially when most of us are no longer working in AIA. We can still have our adhoc gathering sessions when everyone has the time but guess it's no more of such monthly events. It's been alot of hard work for me to keep this group together. It was definitely a good session this time cause almost everyone came and they even brought their frens, girlfrens, boyfrens, siblings etc. It was fun to end this year with such a great event. We had a mini singing contest and as expected, YY & Selina won the best Male & Female singer with their good singing skills. The purpose of the contest was just to make the event a little more exciting than our usual sessions. Many of them also made the effort to come dressed accordingly to our theme: Black &/or Glam. I've also managed to give out most of the X'mas presents in case I dun have the chance to see them in the coming week. I hope that they will like the presents they got from me. There was a little surprise for me from the gang. They gave me a Thank You card with a nice bouquet of flowers. I am touched by their kind thoughts. It feels good to know that they do appreciate my efforts for the past 1.5 years. It's been my great fortune to have such a great group of frens and I will always treasure the wonderful memories. Last but not the least, I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the members of DF Club and I sincerely hope that we can continue to maintain this bond of friendship. Fate has brought us together as a group and I hope it doesn't end with the last session of DF Club. Wishing all of you a Merry X'mas & may 2009 be a better year for everyone!

Magical Wonders: Pirates of the Caribbean (10 Dec 2008)

After months of practise, it was finally the day for our performance. We were at Victoria Theatre as early as 9.30am to rehearse & get ready. There were 2 shows, one at 3.30pm & the other at 7.30pm. Although I wasn't that happy about the teacher adding more people to our dance and messing it up, I still put in my best effort for both shows. Managed to put up a good show especially the 2nd one cause I've got quite few frens who went to give me their support. Told myself that I will give all my best for them. I've also got frens who can't make it but sent me message to encourage me. I truly appreciate their thoughtfulness. I am glad to get positive feedback from my frens bout my dance performance. Guess some of them were surprised that I can do hip hop dance. Anyway I would say our performance was a success and I sincerely thank all my frens who were there to support me or those who sent me sms to wish me luck. For those who missed it, you think I should do it again during the DF session next week????? No lah, maybe I will play you the video to see.

New Hair Cut (11 Dec 2008)

I have been pretty pissed with my hair cause it kept sticking out. Decided to find time today to look for my hair stylist to fix it. I had wanted to cut it short again after looking at Cat's hair but my stylist refuse to cut it for me. In the end, she ended up giving my hair more layers so that the sticking out part looks natural. She still kept the length for me cause she wanted me to keep it a little longer. Here is my new hair look.

Death (from "Faith into Action")

Death will come to each of us some day. We can die having fought hard for our beliefs and convictions, or we can die having failed to do so. Since the reality of death is the same in either case, isn't it far better that we set out on our journey toward the next existence in high spirits, with a bright smile on our faces, knowing that in everything we did, we did the very best we could, thrilling with the sense that "That was truly an interesting life"?

Love & Relationship (from "Faith into Action")

If you are neglecting things you should be doing, forgetting your purpose in life because of the relationship you're in, then you're on the wrong path. A healthy relationship is one in which two people encourage each other to reach their respective goals while sharing each other's hopes & dreams. A relationship should be a source of inspirition, invigoration & hope.

Faith into Action

I was looking for some stuff in my cabinet and I came across this book that I had for a long time but didn't have time to read. It is call "Faith into Action". This is a book of thoughts on selected topics by Daisaku Ikeda, President of Soka Gakkai International. There are many meaningful passages in the book which I will start to share in my blog from today onwards. Hope this can also apply in your life.

I wanna BE HAPPIZ

Because I am an Aries, I tend to be very short-tempered. But at the same time, I do cool down pretty fast at times. I am not the type who will bear grudges unless I've accumulated the anger for a very long time. People always thought that I am always getting angry but thats is just being short-tempered. Like I always say, being angry means you still have feelings for the person. When I start to ignore the person or give them the hack care attitude, it means I have totally given up on him/her. I just recently realized that there is no point getting angry over anything or anyone. I am starting to learn how to lead a "cool" life or have the "can't be bothered" attitude. I finally understood that there is no point getting angry cause the person may not even know or care. Why should you make yourself angry? Anger dun make you happy. I am probably half way through my life journey and I jus wanna live the other half of it happier. From now onwards, nothing matters anymore. I wun bother what others think or say about me. I am just gonna live my life like my blog's nick: BE HAPPIZ.

Mamma Mia Musical in KL

Just found out over the weekend when I was in KL that Mamma Mia Musical be having their world tour in KL from 17 Dec 08 to 1 Jan 09. It's sad that Singapore is not part of their world tour destination. I really wanna watch the musical again cause it's really good. Now I really feel like going to KL to watch it. For those who are also a fan and wanna go KL to watch, here is the link to get tickets: http://www.thestar.com.my/mammamia/

Never Abandon HOPE

Life is filled with trials and tribulations. There may be times when, in the face of indescribable hardship, we feel like giving up. But we mustn't. No matter how bleak our situation appears, we must never abandon hope. In any struggle, it is up to us to resolve that we will not be defeated; it is up to us to be absolutely determined to win. Everything will open from there. Let us take another step forward, in a way that is true to ourselves, with a positive, cheerful state of mind.

What exactly is Courage?

Courage is the strength to live our lives the right way, to walk the right path. The most important kind of courage is the courage required to live a good life each day. For example, the courage not to be defeated by difficulties, to win over adversities, to study or work hard or to form and sustain good, solid friendships. This kind of courage we might even call perseverance, a virtue that directs our lives in a positive direction. This type of courage may not be flashy, but it is truly the most important.

Happy 40th Birthday to Stephen

Although I know he wun see this but I still wanna wish my ex-boyfriend Stephen a Happy 40th Birthday. I sincerely wish him lots of happiness and may he have a wonderful birthday this year. May all his wishes come true on this special day and be blessed with many blessings.

Thank You & Sorry

I'll like to say a BIG THANK YOU all my frens for all the friendship, support & tolerance especially those whom helped me through the past year. I also have to apologise to those whom had a hard time trying to meet my expectations as a fren. Dun need to worry anymore moving forward cause I straighten out my thoughts. From now on, I will learn to solve my own problems without having to trouble anyone. Thank you & sorry once again.

"Job" as a Friend

I am not sure if its too late but I jus realized that I dun know how to manage friends as good as I manage my bosses. Maybe I should say that I dun know how to be a friend. I feel that it's too stressful for me to manage friends especially the close ones. I was happy last year that I suddenly expanded my circle of friends but I now think it wasn't that good anyway. Maybe I never had so many friends so I really dun know how to manage them. Guess I am not suitable to have so many friends. It's just too stressful for me to manage them. Everything jus seem so emotional. I am both mentally & emotionally tired about all these stuff. Everything seem to hurt everyone's feelings. I try my best to be a good friend but seems like I am not doing a good job. Maybe I should jus quit from this "job" as a friend. Why some people have the hack care attitude while I always get angry over minor things. I am really envious of YY who can always manage his friends well. Maybe he has got the "dun bother so much" attitude which I dun have. Bro, teach me a few good tricks leh. Well, think it's time for me to give up on all these friendship stuff. I should be happy with jus my best fren Abby and few close frens such as Cat, YY & Chee Ming. Some extra friends to keep in touch with would be good but guess it wun hurt much not to have them. Now I jus wanna to do well in my job, make more money and have a good life. The rest ain't that important anymore.

That's What Friends Are For

I suddenly remember that there was this song that we used to sing when we were young. The song is call "That's What Friends are For". Here is part of the song lyrics which we will always be able to remember:
"Keep smiling keep shining
knowing you can always count on me for sure
That´s what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I´ll be on your side forever more
That´s what friends are for"

If you ask me now, I seriously do not know what friends are for and what kind of people do you call a friend nowadays??? If it is like what the lyrics say, then I think there are not many such people out there nowadays. I feel that friends now are just for companionship. These are the people that hangs around & go out with you when you are lonely. Not many can be around when you need help. I am someone with pretty high requirements for friends. Maybe that explains why I dun have many friends. As time passes by, I realize that all the requirements for friends are not that important anymore. I suppose so long your friend makes the effort to call or meet you at times, you can consider the person as a friend. I also do not understand why friends can scheme against one another. Life is simple so dun make things complicated. I have come to a stage where I feel that I should start to kan kai liao. You wanna be my friend, I will be your friend. If you are not interested in the friendship, then dun come bother me cause I've got no time for such nonsense. I dun accept "part-time" friendship. If you are my friend, then I expect "full" friendship. And for those I call sistas & brothers, I really do treat you as one. It's not jus a term I use for friends. But if I dun use this term on you, then you probably jus a normal friend to me.

Promises are not meant to be kept

I've come to realize recently that promises are not meant to be kept especially for those people who always say they will honour their promises. I never say such things before but I do always try to keep promises made to friends. Recently a fren has disappoint me many times by breaking the promises made. Maybe I am no longer an important fren to this person. Well, guess I am used to having people "piloting" me now. Seems like people dun find me important anymore. Maybe I should also start doing the same to others. Let them have a taste of their own doings. Anyway, a word of advice is that you should not over-promise your frens if you dun know if you can fulfill the promise. Dun worry, I jus wanna say my piece in my blog. I am not gonna be affected by these minor issues anymore. I finally understand that there is no point getting myself angry with such worthless people. There are still frens out there who are worthy for my attention.

KL Trip 29-30 Nov 08

Finally back in KL after my last visit in Sept 07. It was a short visit cause our purpose was to shop & eat. My travel kakis this time are Abby, Philip & Cat. Must first say a BIG THANK YOU to Philip who drove us safely from S'pore to KL & back. None of us could drive so we would have to trouble him. He had to resist the temptation to sleep while some of us already dozing off in the car. We left S'pore on Saturday morning but got hit with traffic jam at Woodlands checkpoint. Decided to skip breakfast in JB and proceed straight to KL. We stopped halfway to have brunch at A&W. We were all looking forward to having waffle and were sad to find out that they didn't have that there. We ended up eating fried chicken and cold waffle pieces put in a mug. Well, at least we enjoyed the root beer. Arrived in KL at bout 12+. We went straight to Pavillion to shop after checking in. I managed to buy quite some stuff from there cause there is sale everywhere. Even Giordano Concept is having 50% off. Me bought the most stuff from there: 2 shirts, 1 shorts & 1 belt. Another of my fav store is definitely the Pandini Concept Store. I didn't get alot of stuff there this time cause not all designs are nice. Got a shirt, a vest & some accessories there and I am glad that they are also having 20% off. After shopping in Pavillion, we went over to Low Yat Plaza to sing KTV @ Red Box KTV. We were there from 8pm to 11pm and our package is KTV + dinner. Cost is about S$25 and the food is quite good. The songs are also very up to date. After KTV, we went to Jalan Alor to tabao some food back to eat in hotel. I never fail to visit Jalan Alor on all my KL trips cause the food there is yummy. I ate so much till I still feel full when I woke up the next morning. The next day is a short day cause we were due to make our way back to S'pore at bout 2pm. Went over to Sungei Wang for some last minute shopping and had our lunch at Nandos. Left KL at about 2.30pm. Kenna a jam at the S'pore checkpoint on our way back. We were stuck there for about 1hr. It was about 9pm when I got home. It was a short but fruitful trip for me. It was also a good opportunity for me to travel with Abby, Philip & Cat. Our last trip was to Tokyo in March. I remembered that we always had alot of fun travelling to Japan & Hong Kong cause we all share the same passion for fashion & food. Looking forward to my next trip: TAIWAN. More food & shopping....
