Resignation

Recently a pretty close colleague of mine who is holding a senior position has decided to leave the company. I was told that she got a job with better pay & prospect. I am happy for her cause I feel that she is unhappy in this company anyway. I have utmost respect for this colleague cause she is someone who is very experience and can do the job well. But after she tendered her resignation, there was an immediate change in her attitude. She was in her ORD mood. She started to argue more with my boss and couldn't be bothered with alot of things. I just feel that no matter how unhappy you are with your boss or the company, you still have the responsibility to do your work as along as you are with the company. I could see that she can't wait to go over to the new company and she is no longer interested in the work here. She commented today that even doing the handover list is so difficult. This is because my boss made changes to it twice already. I felt that she is unhappy because she couldn't handover her work so long the list is not ready. I wonder where is all the professionalism that I used to see in her. I really hope that she won't disappoint me in her last 2 weeks with the company. I still believe that she has the integrity to do a good job. I sincerely wish her success in everything she do.

Upset

I am very upset with myself. Wanted to go early to S'pore Indoor Stadium to get the Mayday t-shirt before the concert. Was stuck in a traffic jam on my way there and reach there at only 5.30pm. Wanted to buy this t-shirt that ah shin collaborated with Stay Real to design. The t-shirt design is white with gold rocket print on it. It run out of sizes when I reached there. Saw ah shin wearing it at the concert. Thought I could find it over the internet but just realize they only launch the design on 20 Apr and they are only selling limited stock at the S'pore concert. Now I cannot find it even though I am willing to pay for it. This is sooo upsetting. I should have gone there earlier to get the t-shirt.

Mayday Concert 26 Apr 2008

The day has finally come for me to watch the Mayday "Back to Earth" Concert 2008 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. I missed the one last year so I told myself that I must see the one this year. I do occasionally listen to Mayday songs last time but I only became a fan last year. Some of my fav songs are: 最重要的小事, 天使, 知足, 温柔, 纯真 & 生命有一种绝对. As promised by Mayday, the concert is one of the best I have seen so far. I feel that it is even better than Jay Chou’s concert. The crowd was very high and most of them stand throughout the concert. I really enjoyed it. They sang most of my fav songs except for 纯真. Well, lucky they did not sing cause this song reminds me of some unhappy memories. Anyway I was at the concert with Jasmine, Kai Ee & Hui Lam and I could see that we all enjoyed the concert. The lead singer 阿信 even sang the song 洋葱 which he wrote for 杨宗纬. I feel that he can sing it better than 杨宗纬. I love his voice. He sang throughout the 3 hours without any break and I am impressed by his stamina and strength of his voice. Pretty sad that they will be taking a break to prepare their next album. Think we may have to wait for some time before we can see their concert in Singapore again. Look forward to many more good songs & albums from Mayday & 阿信.

Sweet Memories

After much thoughts, I have decided to put these memories in my blog. You may think that I have not forgotten about him. Its actually the opposite. I am now slowly trying to erase all the memories I had with him. That's why I am now writing them down in my blog so that I can still read about them in future. The relationship I had with this man only lasted for 3 months. I dun know how to describe the relationship I had with him but it was special at that point of time. He was a very nice & sweet guy. The only bad thing about him is that he is selfish. Well, everyone is selfish in one way or another so nothing wrong for him being selfish. Guess the only wrong is he picked the wrong girl.
He was really nice & sweet to me then. He would give me morning calls knowing that I always cannot wake up to go to work. He managed to get me an album that I wanted very much but was out of stock. When I was sick, he would sms me to remind me to take my medications. Sometimes, he would call or sms me to check if I have reached home after work. He was there when I needed a shoulder to cry on due to stress at work. I could share with him my problems at work. Those were all the sweet memories that I once strongly held on to.
I asked myself why I like him? He is definitely not a good looking guy. Maybe because we had common topics to talk about. We seem so alike. I never asked for any commitment when I was with him cause I knew he couldn't give me anything. I knew that at the end of the day I was going to fall flat on my face and no one would pity me. I was willing to take the risk cause I really do like him. I was even prepared to end the relationship when he realize that everything was a mistake. He finally did realized it was wrong but he didn't make an effort to tell me. He chose to avoid me hoping that I would get the hint. I finally got the hint but I was very disappointed. I was disappointed because he made me feel lost and I didn't know what I did wrong and why he gave me the cold shoulder. I end up being the one who took the initiative to talk to him and found out whats wrong. He gave me no choice but to let go. He even asked me not to hate him. It took me 6 months to get over it with the support of my friends. I have never felt so depressed & upset in my life. These 6 months were the toughest period in my life. Well, nobody is at fault. It takes 2 hands to clap anyway. I can only say that I met him too late. It will be good if I had met him earlier.
Sometimes I really wished that nothing had happened between us. I hated myself for falling into it. Well, there is no turning back. Now I just wanna to erase all the memories and continue looking for my happiness. Its been great to know him over the years and I do appreciate his advice & support given to me all this time. I sincerely hope that we can continue to be good friends.

My 31st Birthday

This year's birthday is pretty special to me cause I spent it with a group of my best frens at Mono @ St James. I am indeed very privileged to have most of my frens there to celebrate my birthday. As expected, I was drunk. This time I am not a jellyfish but more like a drunkard prawn. I was totally knocked out by 2am. I couldn't even walk. My frens had to wait for me to be awake before they could send me home. Anyway I am definitely very touch by all my frens' efforts in making my birthday a memorable one. This is the first time that I couldn't exactly remember what I did so my sincere apologies if I did or say anything wrong. Anyway here are some people I would like to thank for this really memorable birthday I had:

  3. Many thanks to Abby, Catherine, Philip, Cheryl, Sharol, YY, Mycle, Beng, Kai Ee, Sai Kit, Edy, Eileen, Shirley & Daphne for their presence at the party.
  4. Special thanks to YY who helped to coordinate the present and sang the birthday song for me. Thought there was going to more than one special performance.
  5. Special thanks to Cheryl who helped to get all the shareholders to sign on my birthday card (except for one which she didn't manage to get) and also get the yummy birthday cake.
  6. Special thanks to Daphne who made special arrangement jus to come and give me a birthday hug cause her husband refuse to let her attend the party. I am really touch by your sincerity.

Counting down - 6 days!!!

I am counting down to my 31st birthday on 19th April 2008. 6 more days and I am going to turn 31. It's been a memorable year for me. The 30th year of my life has been a challenging one. Many things had happened in this year. Some are happy and some are sad. It is also a year that I travelled the most times. I went to Batam, KL, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok and Tokyo. Never been to so many places within a year. Well, I also spent alot of $$$ lah. I am not too sure if I should be happy to get out of the 30th year and move to the 31st year of my life since there are so many unhappiness in this year or should I be sad that I am 1 year older. I dun seem to be wiser as I get older leh. Still do silly things and get cheated at 30, its so embarrassing. Last year, many of my frens celebrated my birthday for me at St James. This year, I am glad to have the same group of frens (include my best frens & sistas) to celebrate my birthday for me again at St James. Maybe I am a more sentimental person, I really hope all my frens can be present but sad to say, some cannot make it due to their personal reasons. Pretty disappointed that they cannot remember my birthday. However I am definitelty looking forward to spending this special day with all my frens who made the effort to be there.

Tokyo 22-28 March 2008 (Part 1)

Day 1 (22 March 08, Saturday) – Shinjuku
We were at the airport at 4am to check in for our flight to Tokyo. This time, my travel mates are Abby, Philip (Abby’s husband), Catherine & Vinnie. The plane departed from Singapore to Tokyo at 6am and this is when we begin our 7D6N Tokyo trip. We arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport at about 2pm (Tokyo time, 1hr ahead of S’pore time). To cut cost, we decided to take the Keisei Limited Express to our hotel located in Shinjuku Sanchome. We boarded the local line which happens to stop at all the stations and it took us almost 2hrs to reach our hotel. We stayed at City Hotel Lornstar located in Shinjuku Sanchome. We were all starving by the times we arrived at the hotel. We quickly checked in and proceed to our favourite food outlet Song Wu to have our dinner. I had curry rice which I found to be a bit too spicy for me. After filling our stomach, we started our 1st day of shopping expedition in Tokyo. We went to Isetan, Takashimaya Times Square and Lumine located in Shinjuku. We could only shop till 9pm cause most of the malls closed by then. Managed to buy some stuff for myself on the 1st day.

Day 2 (23 March 08, Sunday) – Harajuku & Shibuya
This is the day that I have been looking forward to cause Harajuku is the place where I can get all my favourite brands. We were there at about 9am cause we wanted to visit the Meiji-Dori Shrine before shopping. The way to the shrine is a long walk. I bought 2 lucky charms and we also witnessed 3 wedding ceremonies there. Left the shrine at about 10.30am to grab some food at Yoshinoya before starting our shopping. Our first stop in Harajuku is definitely Head Porter cause all of us wanted to get a bag there. Even Vinnie who is not fan of HP also bought a bag for herself & her husband. I bought the big waist pouch for myself, a small waist pouch for Kai Ee & some handphone straps as gifts for my frens. My dear frens Abby, Catherine & Chery shared to get me a HP sling bag as my birthday present. I a bit paiseh cause the bag is not very cheap. Offered to top up the difference but they generously offered to pay the full amount. In that case, I will get them expensive presents for their birthdays too. After Head Porter, we head to look for Bathing Ape & Bape Cafe. Managed to locate Baby Milo & Bape Cafe but no sign of Bathing Ape. We also went to Marc by Marc Jacobs, X-Large, X-Girl, Supreme, Neighborhood & Agnes B. Finally found Bathing Ape which was located behind Omotesando Hills. I bought a t-shirt from there which cost me about S$80. We finished our shopping in Harajuku at about 5pm and decided to proceed back to the hotel to put our things first before going to Shibuya for dinner. My frens wanted to go to Gui Hua ramen in Shibuya for their dinner but since I still have phobia for ramen, I had my dinner in Loteria (a fast food chain in Japan). I had teriyaki beef burger with egg and its really delicious. We wanted to shop around after dinner but by then most of the shops were closing. We only managed to go to ABC Mart (shop popular for selling track shoes) and some of my frens bought the Converse x Jack Purcell 100th Anniversary edition. I didn’t buy any shoes cause I dun wear them often and I already have a silver pair of Converse x Jack Purcell. This is one of the most tiring day for our trip cause we have been walking the whole day. My feet were numb by the time we got back to the hotel.

Day 3 (24 March 08, Monday) – Garden Walk Mukuhari Outlet & Shibuya
Our initial plan was to go to Disneyland but the weather forecast said it was going to rain so we decided to change our plan to visit the Garden Walk Mukuhari Outlet Mall located in Kaihin-Makuhari. Only me, Abby & Philip went cause Cat & Vinnie wanted to go Ginza to shop. It took us almost 1hr to get there and it was raining there. We were pretty disappointed with the place cause it’s not very big and things are not really that cheap. We had our lunch there and shopped around for about 2hrs. I managed to get some stuff for my niece & nephew. Got myself a pair of Tsumori Chisato shoes that were on sale. Decided to meet up Cat & Vinnie in Shibuya to shop. I finally managed to get my Anna Sui wallet. Went back to the hotel early to rest so that we have more energy to cheong Disneyland tomorrow.

Day 4 (25 March 08, Tuesday) – Tokyo Disneyland
Today is the day that we are going to visit Disneyland. Not only the kids are excited, I am also very excited to be back again at Disneyland Tokyo after my last visit 6 years ago. To my disappointment, the place was packed. We reached there about 10am. Took us some time to queue to get the tickets. By the time I start queuing up for rides, it was almost 12pm. We spent 2 hours queuing for the Winnie The Pooh ride. After the ride, Cat & Vinnie wanted to take Space Mountain which I am not interested so I went to queue for Peter Pan ride. Total I managed to only take 5 rides which I was pretty disappointed. Lucky I saw the Electro Parade & fireworks which sort off make up for the disappointment. As usual, I bought lots of stuff there. We left Disneyland at about 10pm and we were all super tired by the time we got back to the hotel. To make things worse, we were squash in the train on our way back. Nearly couldn’t get out of the train. Damn scary.

Tokyo 22-28 March 2008 (Part 2)

Day 5 (26 March 08, Wednesday) – Asakusa & Ueno
The purpose of our trip was to see sakura besides all the shopping. We went to Asakusa first in the morning. I went to draw a lot and got a “Best Fortune大吉” lot. Here’s what it says:
“The tower of cloisonné with seven treasures is standing in a stately manner upon the high summit. People look at it and praise it. You fortune is just like this tower. When you look at it more carefully, your fortune will be more excellent”.
I really hope that my life will be like what it says in the lot. After Asakusa, we proceed to Ueno Park to check out the sakura (cherry blossom). The sakura trees in Ueno were half bloom when we were there. The sakura flowers were really beautiful. This is the first time in my life to see sakura blooming. It’s not easy to catch them since they only bloom for few days every year. It’s even tougher for us foreigners who flew there just to catch the view. I was praying very hard to be able to catch them during our trip. You can see from the pictures in my Friendster that the flowers are really gorgeous. We also had the chance to try sakura ice cream. I will never forget the beautiful sight of the sakura in my life. It’s really an unforgettable experience.

Day 6 (27 March 08, Thursday) – Daikanyama & Odaiba

For those who have not been to Tokyo, Daikanyama may not be place that is familiar to you. You may have heard about Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza & Harajuku but definitely not Daikanyama. Well, if you are into entertainment news, Daikanyama is the place that Jay Chou was caught dating with Patty Hou. It’s a shopping district with stores such as Tsumori Chisato, Beams Boy, Paul Smith Pink, Onitsuka Tiger & Vivienne Westwood Red Label. Some of them are only exclusive in Daikanyama and you cannot find them elsewhere in Tokyo. After Daikanyama, we went on to Odaiba. Odaiba is a must go place if it’s your first time in Tokyo cause you can see the famous Rainbow Bridge there. There is also a Ferris wheel that is light up with colourful lights at night. They also have Toyota showroom, Fuji TV station and World of Coca-Cola there. They have also got a shopping centre Venus Fort which the ceiling will change colour like Caesar Palace in US. We ended our day there with supper at Yoshinoya.

Day 7 (28 March 08, Friday) – Shinjuku
This is our last day in Tokyo. The trip seemed to have ended so fast. We couldn’t go anywhere else except Shinjuku cause we need to leave the hotel by 3pm to get to the airport. We decided to go get the airport limousine tickets first before going for lunch. Did some last minute shopping at Shinjuku. We left the hotel at 3pm sharp to make our way to take Shinjuku station to take the airport limousine to the airport. I had a hard time carrying my luggage to Shinjuku station. I told my frens that the 30mins is the longest time in my life. As usual, I have got the most luggages when we checked in to our flight. Total luggage weight is 25kg. Lucky I have the rest to average the weight so that I won’t have to pay for excess baggage. To our horror, our flight was delayed for almost 2 hours. This is the 2nd time in my life that I kenna delayed flight. We had to hang around at Narita Airport for another 2 hours, so sianz. Finally manage to get onto the flight at 8.40pm (Japan time). I was so damn tired and slept throughout the 7 hours flight. Reached Singapore at only about 3am. Our 7D6N Tokyo trip has finally come to an end. It was a great trip and I am glad to be able to travel with my best fren Abby again. I missed their last Tokyo trip so it’s good to be back with the gang. I managed to get most of the stuff I wanted thought we didn’t really shopped at many places. I spent alot of $$$ but it’s definitely worth it. Hope to be able to go back to Japan again soon.
