Day 5 (26 March 08, Wednesday) – Asakusa & Ueno
The purpose of our trip was to see sakura besides all the shopping. We went to Asakusa first in the morning. I went to draw a lot and got a “Best Fortune大吉” lot. Here’s what it says:
“The tower of cloisonné with seven treasures is standing in a stately manner upon the high summit. People look at it and praise it. You fortune is just like this tower. When you look at it more carefully, your fortune will be more excellent”.
I really hope that my life will be like what it says in the lot. After Asakusa, we proceed to Ueno Park to check out the sakura (cherry blossom). The sakura trees in Ueno were half bloom when we were there. The sakura flowers were really beautiful. This is the first time in my life to see sakura blooming. It’s not easy to catch them since they only bloom for few days every year. It’s even tougher for us foreigners who flew there just to catch the view. I was praying very hard to be able to catch them during our trip. You can see from the pictures in my Friendster that the flowers are really gorgeous. We also had the chance to try sakura ice cream. I will never forget the beautiful sight of the sakura in my life. It’s really an unforgettable experience.

Day 6 (27 March 08, Thursday) – Daikanyama & Odaiba
For those who have not been to Tokyo, Daikanyama may not be place that is familiar to you. You may have heard about Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza & Harajuku but definitely not Daikanyama. Well, if you are into entertainment news, Daikanyama is the place that Jay Chou was caught dating with Patty Hou. It’s a shopping district with stores such as Tsumori Chisato, Beams Boy, Paul Smith Pink, Onitsuka Tiger & Vivienne Westwood Red Label. Some of them are only exclusive in Daikanyama and you cannot find them elsewhere in Tokyo. After Daikanyama, we went on to Odaiba. Odaiba is a must go place if it’s your first time in Tokyo cause you can see the famous Rainbow Bridge there. There is also a Ferris wheel that is light up with colourful lights at night. They also have Toyota showroom, Fuji TV station and World of Coca-Cola there. They have also got a shopping centre Venus Fort which the ceiling will change colour like Caesar Palace in US. We ended our day there with supper at Yoshinoya.
Day 7 (28 March 08, Friday) – Shinjuku
This is our last day in Tokyo. The trip seemed to have ended so fast. We couldn’t go anywhere else except Shinjuku cause we need to leave the hotel by 3pm to get to the airport. We decided to go get the airport limousine tickets first before going for lunch. Did some last minute shopping at Shinjuku. We left the hotel at 3pm sharp to make our way to take Shinjuku station to take the airport limousine to the airport. I had a hard time carrying my luggage to Shinjuku station. I told my frens that the 30mins is the longest time in my life. As usual, I have got the most luggages when we checked in to our flight. Total luggage weight is 25kg. Lucky I have the rest to average the weight so that I won’t have to pay for excess baggage. To our horror, our flight was delayed for almost 2 hours. This is the 2nd time in my life that I kenna delayed flight. We had to hang around at Narita Airport for another 2 hours, so sianz. Finally manage to get onto the flight at 8.40pm (Japan time). I was so damn tired and slept throughout the 7 hours flight. Reached Singapore at only about 3am. Our 7D6N Tokyo trip has finally come to an end. It was a great trip and I am glad to be able to travel with my best fren Abby again. I missed their last Tokyo trip so it’s good to be back with the gang. I managed to get most of the stuff I wanted thought we didn’t really shopped at many places. I spent alot of $$$ but it’s definitely worth it. Hope to be able to go back to Japan again soon.
