Tokyo 22-28 March 2008 (Part 1)

Day 1 (22 March 08, Saturday) – Shinjuku
We were at the airport at 4am to check in for our flight to Tokyo. This time, my travel mates are Abby, Philip (Abby’s husband), Catherine & Vinnie. The plane departed from Singapore to Tokyo at 6am and this is when we begin our 7D6N Tokyo trip. We arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport at about 2pm (Tokyo time, 1hr ahead of S’pore time). To cut cost, we decided to take the Keisei Limited Express to our hotel located in Shinjuku Sanchome. We boarded the local line which happens to stop at all the stations and it took us almost 2hrs to reach our hotel. We stayed at City Hotel Lornstar located in Shinjuku Sanchome. We were all starving by the times we arrived at the hotel. We quickly checked in and proceed to our favourite food outlet Song Wu to have our dinner. I had curry rice which I found to be a bit too spicy for me. After filling our stomach, we started our 1st day of shopping expedition in Tokyo. We went to Isetan, Takashimaya Times Square and Lumine located in Shinjuku. We could only shop till 9pm cause most of the malls closed by then. Managed to buy some stuff for myself on the 1st day.

Day 2 (23 March 08, Sunday) – Harajuku & Shibuya
This is the day that I have been looking forward to cause Harajuku is the place where I can get all my favourite brands. We were there at about 9am cause we wanted to visit the Meiji-Dori Shrine before shopping. The way to the shrine is a long walk. I bought 2 lucky charms and we also witnessed 3 wedding ceremonies there. Left the shrine at about 10.30am to grab some food at Yoshinoya before starting our shopping. Our first stop in Harajuku is definitely Head Porter cause all of us wanted to get a bag there. Even Vinnie who is not fan of HP also bought a bag for herself & her husband. I bought the big waist pouch for myself, a small waist pouch for Kai Ee & some handphone straps as gifts for my frens. My dear frens Abby, Catherine & Chery shared to get me a HP sling bag as my birthday present. I a bit paiseh cause the bag is not very cheap. Offered to top up the difference but they generously offered to pay the full amount. In that case, I will get them expensive presents for their birthdays too. After Head Porter, we head to look for Bathing Ape & Bape Cafe. Managed to locate Baby Milo & Bape Cafe but no sign of Bathing Ape. We also went to Marc by Marc Jacobs, X-Large, X-Girl, Supreme, Neighborhood & Agnes B. Finally found Bathing Ape which was located behind Omotesando Hills. I bought a t-shirt from there which cost me about S$80. We finished our shopping in Harajuku at about 5pm and decided to proceed back to the hotel to put our things first before going to Shibuya for dinner. My frens wanted to go to Gui Hua ramen in Shibuya for their dinner but since I still have phobia for ramen, I had my dinner in Loteria (a fast food chain in Japan). I had teriyaki beef burger with egg and its really delicious. We wanted to shop around after dinner but by then most of the shops were closing. We only managed to go to ABC Mart (shop popular for selling track shoes) and some of my frens bought the Converse x Jack Purcell 100th Anniversary edition. I didn’t buy any shoes cause I dun wear them often and I already have a silver pair of Converse x Jack Purcell. This is one of the most tiring day for our trip cause we have been walking the whole day. My feet were numb by the time we got back to the hotel.

Day 3 (24 March 08, Monday) – Garden Walk Mukuhari Outlet & Shibuya
Our initial plan was to go to Disneyland but the weather forecast said it was going to rain so we decided to change our plan to visit the Garden Walk Mukuhari Outlet Mall located in Kaihin-Makuhari. Only me, Abby & Philip went cause Cat & Vinnie wanted to go Ginza to shop. It took us almost 1hr to get there and it was raining there. We were pretty disappointed with the place cause it’s not very big and things are not really that cheap. We had our lunch there and shopped around for about 2hrs. I managed to get some stuff for my niece & nephew. Got myself a pair of Tsumori Chisato shoes that were on sale. Decided to meet up Cat & Vinnie in Shibuya to shop. I finally managed to get my Anna Sui wallet. Went back to the hotel early to rest so that we have more energy to cheong Disneyland tomorrow.

Day 4 (25 March 08, Tuesday) – Tokyo Disneyland
Today is the day that we are going to visit Disneyland. Not only the kids are excited, I am also very excited to be back again at Disneyland Tokyo after my last visit 6 years ago. To my disappointment, the place was packed. We reached there about 10am. Took us some time to queue to get the tickets. By the time I start queuing up for rides, it was almost 12pm. We spent 2 hours queuing for the Winnie The Pooh ride. After the ride, Cat & Vinnie wanted to take Space Mountain which I am not interested so I went to queue for Peter Pan ride. Total I managed to only take 5 rides which I was pretty disappointed. Lucky I saw the Electro Parade & fireworks which sort off make up for the disappointment. As usual, I bought lots of stuff there. We left Disneyland at about 10pm and we were all super tired by the time we got back to the hotel. To make things worse, we were squash in the train on our way back. Nearly couldn’t get out of the train. Damn scary.
