Many people always say Love is blind. I wonder how true is this saying? I do agreed to a certain extend cause it happened to me before. When I was with my ex-boyfriend, I also changed a lot to accommodate to his requirements. Even my friends told me that they can see that I am restricting myself a lot just because my ex-boyfriend. For example, I don’t go shopping with him cause he didn’t like me to buy things. Even if I do shop with him, I won’t buy a single thing. Now, I see the same situation in one of my friends. I can see her restricting herself when I go out with them at times. I understand that you have to compromise in a relationship but in her case, I only see her compromising but not her childish boyfriend. I’ve mentioned in my earlier blogs that you need to communicated & compromise in a relationship and both parties have to make an effort to do it. It is not just about one party doing it. I get very irritated when I see such situations among my friends. Well, maybe I am being too sensitive. Maybe my friend enjoys being restricted so long she is with the man she loves. Sometimes when you love someone, it doesn’t matter even if there are a lot of differences. In this case, Love is definitely blind. Many couples only realize the differences after they got married. This is why we see so many young divorce couples out there now. Many of them fell deeply in love and got married without realizing their differences. The marriage will be successful if both parties are willing to compromise. Normally the marriage will break up when either one party is not willing to compromise. I always think that it is good for couples to stay together first before getting married. You may think I am very open-minded but by doing that, you will be able to understand your partner better. I’ve also seen couples who are not married but been together for many years and they are happy. This is what I call a successful relationship. Marriage is not the major thing in a relationship. It’s not about getting married, it’s about maintaining it. If you get married but cannot maintain it, then what’s the point. So friends out there, don’t rush into marriage. Give yourself time to adapt to the relationship and see if the man is really for you. Don’t be burden by peer or family pressures. Know what you want in your life. Most important thing in life is to be HAPPY!
Live each day, as if there is no tomorrow. Be Happy. Give Thanks. Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is mystery, Today is a GIFT.
