Batam Trip 30-31 August 08

Haiz, been super busy clearing my work before my last day with the Company that I haven got time to update my blog. Frens have been asking for my updates. Anyway need to backdate a little cause I've yet to talk about my Batam trip.
Went with my usual travelling gang: Abby & husband Philip + her sista Catherine to Holiday Inn Batam Resort on 30 Aug. That's right! Its the day after the DF session. I went home at 3am and slept at 6am cause need to pack my stuff for the trip. Lucky we took the 2pm ferry so I can still sleep. Another best thing is Philip picked me up at my place cause they decided to drive to HarbourFront & park their car there. We reached there pretty late so could only managed to grab some snacks to eat on the ferry. We reached Batam at bout 2.30pm (Batam time). After checking in, Abby & Cat went for their spa & massage while Philip & me decided to explore the restaurants to see what we could eat for dinner. After that, we went to the pool for a dip. Philip went swimming but since I can't swim, I decided to see if I could get a tan. Unfortunately, by the time I finished putting on my suntan lotion, the sun went into hiding. I ended up taking a nap on the chair by the poolside. Finally the 2 ladies finished their spa & massage at around 6pm. We decided to have our dinner at the Chinese Restaurant since the price is pretty reasonable at S$18.90++ for alacarte dinner. To our surprise, the food there is quite yummy especially the sweet & sour pork. After dinner, we went back to the room to shower & rest since there was not much activities we can participate at that timing. We decided to sleep early cause Cat, Philip & me made bookings for 9am to do body scrub at the Spa & Abby was going for foot massage.
Woke up at about 7.30am to have our breakfast before going for the body scrub. I have never gone for one before but its quite good and your skin feel so smooth after that. After the scrub, we continued with jacuzzi, sauna & steam bath. It was raining so we couldn't go for any outdoor activities anyway. When the rain stopped, we quickly went to the pool for a dip and also took some pictures around the resort. By the time we finished, it was almost 12pm. Abby & Cat wanted to take a shower first so we went back to the room. After they finished, we decided to go for Go Kart but only Philip & me played. It wasn't that fun to have only 2 person racing on the track especially when I am so slow and he is so fast. I had a hard time with the kart cause I needed to step very hard on the accelerator for it to pick up the speed. This time I didn't kenna any accident but my left leg got stuck when I was trying to get out of the kart. By the time I got my leg out, there was a bruise on it. I realized that there were more bruises when I went back to shower. I had another 2 bruises on my back. Kenna one when I lean very hard on the seat while trying to step on the accelerator and the other was caused by the buckle of my bikini. I realized that the places I injured this time were exactly the same as the last time when I was there for teambuilding. Seems like the Go Kart there has got some curse on me.
I wanted to a tan when I was there so when we went back to the resort after the Go Kart and the sun was shinning brightly, I quickly grab my suntan lotion and rush down to the pool to get a tan before leaving. After sitting under the sun for 45mins, I did get a bit of tan. Went back to the room to quickly shower, packed up & also grab my lunch (they ordered room service). We checked out at about 4pm and made our way to the ferry terminal for our journey back home. I managed to get some Kueh Lapis for my mom at the terminal. Most of us slept during the journey back cause we were all tired. We went to eat wanton noodle for dinner and then they dropped me off in Tampines before going back to Pasir Ris.
Overall, it was a pretty good trip cause we went there to rest & relax. The amount I paid was also lesser than the Bintan trip. I dun mind going there again for a short break. Btw, the pictures have been uploaded in my Friendster if you wanna find out more. A BIG thank you to Catherine for doing up the pictures so nicely.
