After much consideration, I decided to buy the Nokia N95 phone to replace my Sony Ericsson K800i. I know this model has been launched for almost a year and most people would usually buy new models. I was considering between buying N95 & N82 but decided on N95 cause few of my friends were using it and they had no major problems with it. The main reason I bought was because I am like to GPS & Wifi function. Alot of my friends have lost confidence in Nokia phones cause many of their models had problems. Hope N95 will restore my confidence on Nokia phones. Finally received my phone on 24 Jan (Thurs) cause I made the purchase over the M1 website. Started to load all my contacts, pictures & songs into the phone since the day I received it. I haven been using Nokia phones for some time so got a bit frustrated when trying to figure out how to use it. Managed to finished loading the songs & pixs into the phone yesterday. I also realized that the Asia Map icon is missing from my phone and my Lifeblog version is not compatible with my PC Suite. Decided to go down to Nokia Care Centre to get the phone checked. Went there today and waited for almost 1hr only to have the staff telling me that I have to download the software from Nokia website. Now I am waiting for the software to be downloaded. So sianz. It is very disappointing & upsetting when your new phone has got problems especially after paying so much for it. There are some pros & cons compared to my SE K800i.
Pros:- Sound is louder & clearer
- Screen is bigger
- Font size is bigger
- Comes with GPS & Wifi
- 3G camera is sharper
- Ability to save sms in your memory card
- Easily answer calls by sliding the phone, need not press any keys
Cons:
- Caller ID pix is so small
- Cannot create proper folders for my ringtones, need to search through the whole list when setting ringtones
- Need to manually put the photos into albums, very tedious process
- Phone hangs when loading too many pix or songs
- Unable to remove or delete ringtones that were pre-stored in the phone
- Unable to rename themes downloaded from websites
- Need to reset your themes after removing memory card
- Need to customize each individual profile
Seems like there are more cons than pros. Hope the pros will increase after I used it for a longer time.
