Day 1 - 20 May 2009 (Wednesday)
Abby & me departed on our 3D2N trip in Hong Kong on 20 May (Wed) at 11am on CX714 flight. Though the timing is a bit late but we dun have much choice since its a free trip. The flight to HK was great cause we took a pretty new aircraft and the in flight entertainment was fantastic. I didn't sleep at all cause I was watching 康熙来了. Ended up watching almost 3 episodes with special guest such as Jay Chou, Show Luo & Ah Shin from MayDay. Arrived in HK at about 3pm and waited for our transfer to the hotel. As the bus had to also drop passengers for other hotels, we arrived at the hotel at almost 4.30pm which is slightly behind our planned schedule. After checking in to our room, we quickly made our way to Tsim Sha Tsui to begin our shopping. As usual, our 1st stop is Silvercord where we can find many of our fav brands such i.t, Fingercroxx, X-Large etc. We spend alot of time & money there. By the time we finished Silvercord 2hrs later, I already spend almost half of my money cause I bought an X-Large watch, some clothes from Fingercroxx and also a pair of heels from Judith Katie. After Silvercord, we proceed to Harbour City. Most of the shops were closed when we went over to Harbour City so only went to b+ab & G2000. Bought another 2 dresses from b+ab cause they were having attractive discounts for all the brands under I.T. It was almost 10pm when we finished Harbour City. We were both hungry & tired. Went over to 兴记 at Yau Ma Tei to eat our fav claypot rice & oyster pancake. After dinner, we went to Mongkok to try out luck to see if the shops are still open for us to shop. Unfortunately, it was almost 1130pm and the shops were mostly closed. Took a cab back to hotel cause we were too tired to walk.
Day 2 - 21 May 2009 (Thursday)
It was going to be another long day as we continued our shopping followed by MayDay Concert at night. Left the hotel at about 10am to take the shuttle bus to Kowloon Hotel to take the MTR to Central where we wanted to eat tim sum at 莲香楼. When we arrived there, we realized that the restaurant is under renovation and has temporary relocated to another location which is pretty far from where we were. Decided to eat at another cafe which sells yummy egg tarts and 波箩包. Breakfast was still good thought we didn't get to eat tim sum. After breakfast, we walked around Central area and I got myself a pair of Reebok track shoes from Pedder Red. We also went to check out Comme De Garcons and H&M. After Central, we went over to Causeway Bay and shopped at Sogo & World Trade Centre. Not much time for us to check out other malls cause we need to rush back to hotel to get ready for the concert. I managed to get a dress from G2000 & a top from bread n butter. Abby needed to help her sis Cat to get a bag from 潮流特区 in Mongkok so we made our way there after Causeway Bay. After getting the bag, we decided to go to this cafe call 极之好 to have our dinner. After dinner, we took a cab back to hotel to deposit our things and get ready for the concert.
Since the stadium is just opposite our hotel, it was a short walk over. Our nightmare came when we saw the queue to buy the concert souvenirs and tshirts. Fortunately, they were very systematic and it didn't take me long to get the stuff I wanted. The only sad thing was some of the tshirt designs had run out of sizes. After getting our purchase, we made our way into the stadium to locate our seats for the concert. As it was our 1st time there, we had to keep looking for ushers to guide us to our seats. I was not told what sort of seats they were going to give us since it was free. We were both shocked when we realized that our seats were on the FIRST row. I couldn't contain my excitement and Abby could see that I simply could not stop smiling. The seats were fantastic! It was even better when the concert started cause 阿信 was just standing less than 5 metres away from me and I could even see his pimples if there was any. We were seated at the centre block with the sponsors and he was near us most of time cause the monitor that displays the lyrics is just in front of us. If I watched the concert in Singapore, I would probably be standing throughout the night. For this time, I didn't stand much cause I was sitting on the 1st row and no one at my row stands cause most of them are sponsors. I did stand when he sang some of my fav songs and when I did that, I was the only one standing. It was a bit embarrassing but I dun really care since I am a fan of MayDay. They sang till almost 12am and had 2 encores cause the fans were so high. They simply refuse to leave even though the concert really ended. I was having so much fun & very high too. It was a fantastic concert and I am definitely looking forward to the one in Singapore in August.
After the concert, we went back to the hotel to pack our luggage since we are checking out tomorrow morning. I slept at almost 2am still feeling high from the concert.
Day 2 - 22 May 2009 (Friday)
Our last day in HK so we have to treasure every minute of it. After checking out of the hotel at 11am, we went over to Sogo @ Tsim Sha Tsui & Harbour City to do some last minute shopping. They were having sale at Sogo so we managed to grab some pretty good deals. I bought a pair of jeans & a blouse from Pepe Jeans, a bag from Ans and few pairs of socks to match my new shoes. Next was LCX @ Harbour City which we didn't have time to visit on Day 1. Went back to 极之好 @ Mongkok to have our fav luncheon meat + egg with rice. It may seem like a normal dish to you but it is our must-eat item when we go HK. Went back to the hotel at 4pm to pack our stuff into our luggage and wait for the bus to pick us up to the airport. More shopping at the airport and I burnt a bigger hole in my pocket by buying this Agnes B wallet with print of Eiffel Tower on it.
Overall, it was wonderful trip cause it's been some time since I last travelled with my best friend Abby. Moreover, HK is one of our fav countries to shop in since we share common liking to some brands there. Not many friends know how to appreciate the brands that I like. We were both very tired but I am sure we both enjoyed the trip tremendously. Many thanks to Abby for taking time to go on this trip with me. Look forward to travelling with you again.
I've been to Hong Kong many times but this is my most memorable experience since I was there to watch my fav band MayDay's concert. I will treasure the wonderful memories and I am thankful for all the blessings. MayDay Rocks!!!
