Can You Keep A Secret???

A friend told me recently that I shouldn't be telling one of our mutual gal friend secrets cause we all knew that she doesn't keep secrets. He said that I should know that cause she has been telling everyone about other people's secrets. I admitted that I knew it all along so I never really wanted to share with her my secrets. Even some things she think she knew, I also won't tell her. But I never expect her to be so terrible that she can even start to telling the whole world even it's just a small thing. I guess she needs alot of attention and by sharing other's stuff, she gets the attention she wanted. I cannot understand why there are such people around. Why can't they respect a person's privacy? It has made me come to a point where I do not know who I can trust. I am worried that they start sharing my secrets with others. Now I try to be careful with the things I share with friends. One of friend ever said:"A secret is never meant to be kept. And if it is really a secret, then you should not even tell anyone about it." I am starting to think that he is right to a certain extent. Maybe there are times that you cannot share your own secrets, so you start to share your friend's secrets. I may done it unknowingly at times too. Think I must also reflect on my own behaviour before I can comment on others. To make things worse, besides telling others about your secrets, there are some who added their own "spice" to make it more interesting. At the end of the day, the stuff were not even the same as what you told her. I wonder how long such people can survive in the society. Your creditworthiness would be all used up in a short period of time. Like I always say, earn your own trust & respect. Don't expect it to drop from the sky. God gave you friends but it is your own effort to maintain the friendship. So let's all start to learn how to KEEP A SECRET! :P
