Teochew Porridge @ Goodwood Park Hotel

Went with some frens to eat the famous teochew porridge @ Goodwood Park Hotel on last Sat 2 Aug. I've heard of it for a long time but never had the chance to try it. The price is not cheap lor. It cost about $39 per pax after GST & service charge. Seriously I have never eaten such an expensive teochew porridge in my life. I wouldn't say that the food is fantastic. Even my fav chaipo egg dun taste as good as the ones I eat at coffee shops. And worse of all, the service there sucks. The Manager didn't even want to give us a table when he saw that we were dressed very casually until my fren told him they were hotel guests. There were many empty tables in the restaurant and the waiting list wasn't even long at all. I just think they looked down on us. Anyway the only delicious food that I tasted there is the durian crepe which is very yummy. But unfortunately due to my diet plans, I only ate one. Dun think I will go back to eat again. I rather eat teochew porridge at Hougang which is 3-4 times cheaper.

I totally agree with you! Just dont understand why they are so popular when it cost us so much and the food is so so only!

The dishes that they served me was cold, it was really disappointing.

I was there on 2 weeks ago, so that is going to be my last visit.
